Two class action lawsuits have been filed against the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners for allegedly violating the Personal Information Protection Act. More than 1.3 million voters in Chicago had their Social Security numbers released to aldermanic candidates and ward committeeman on compact discs. The names, addresses, telephone numbers, and dates of birth also were included in the released information. The lawsuits were filed in Cook County circuit court and alleged gross negligence on behalf of the Chicago Board of Election Commissioners.

Most recently ,on the last election in November, I applied for the job of election judge. I served the day as a election judge. But ,when the payment came to me ,I had only received 200 dollars.I FEEL I was discriminated against and should have received more than that amount . My chores included working , setting up the equipment ,at the desk registering the voters coming in, and the closing duties of breaking down the equipment and help prepare it for the receiving poling place for tabulations and calculations. I feel I was discriminated against because someone had abused my identity either while working on that day or at the downtown office . I BELIEVE SOMETHING WAS STRANGE ABOUT THE PAYMENT AND ABOUT THE NEW APPLICATION FOR SERVING AS A JUDGE,AGAIN.
