Volvo XC90 Recalled

The Volvo XC90 2003 to 2006 model years are being recalled due to possible ball joint failure. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) warns that the vehicle could be difficult to drive and could increase the incidence of a crash if the outer tie rod ball "deforms at high loads".

Volvo owners are advised to contact the NHTSA vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or phone Volvo at 1-800-458-4236. Volvo dealers will replace the ball joint tie rods free of charge at the end of May, 2006 (when the recall is underway).
