Restauranteur Jean-Georges Vongerichten and "V Restaurant are the targets of a lawsuit filed in Manhatten Federal Court. The lawsuit was filed on behalf of former employees and alleges that Vongerichten took a portion of the tip money earned by waiters, busboys and captains, resulting in their being paid sub-minimum wages, a violation of Federal Labor Laws. The suit is seeking class action status.
The V Steakhouse in the Time Warner Center at the Columbus Circle in New York was only open for two years, but former employees are still seeking justice for the time they spent working there.
