A class action lawsuit has been filed against the tattoo and body piercing parlor alleging negligence in sterilizing equipment. Longhorn Custom Bodyart was shut down by Durham health inspectors for failing sterilization tests. The lawsuit is seeking compensation for negligence that potentially exposed 2,000 customers to infections.
Clients who went to Longhorn between November 17, 2006 and August 1, 2007 were urged by the Durham Region's health department to get blood tests for Hep B, C and HIV after it was determined the sterilization equipment had malfunctioned in that time period.
