A class action lawsuit has been filed against Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. on behalf of Florida residents or those who stayed in a Florida Starwood Hotel from February 28, 1998 to the present. The suit alleges that the plaintiffs were improperly assessed "resort fees" in addition to quoted room rates, and legitimate taxes, and that the class members were not properly made aware of such fees, or that the fees were sometimes misrepresented as "taxes."
