Class action status has been granted to a lawsuit filed against the city of Shreveport, Louisiana on behalf of more than 70,000 property taxpayers. The suit alleges that the taxes from a 1996 bond proposal were misappropriated, and states that the funds were authorized for a city park on Cross Bayou that was never developed.
