A class action lawsuit has been filed against Southern California Gas Company, San Diego Gas & Electric Company, Sempra Energy and Pacific Gas & Electric Company on behalf of residents and businesses in California. The suit alleges that the company's conspired with El Paso Corporation and its subsidiaries to eliminate competing pipeline projects under development which would have increased supplies of natural gas to Southern California and reduced or averted natural gas shortages and high natural gas and electricity prices throughout California in 2000 and 2001.
