A lawsuit has been filed against Santa Barbara News-Press on behalf of more than 200 current and former employees for allegedly failing to keep accurate time records and pay overtime. The lawsuit claims the newspaper failed to pay overtime to employees who worked more than eight hours a day or more than 40 hours a week and alleges the News-Press did not provide its employees with meal and rest periods required by California law. The case was filed in Santa Barbara Superior Court and seeks class action status.
