A class action has been filed alleging the county violated federal laws that ensure disabled persons access to public places. The suit was filed by the Disability Rights Legal Center on behalf of disabled people and seeks a federal injunction against the county that would require immediate physical modifications to five county courthouses. The class claims San Bernardino County and the Superior Court of the State of California violated federal and state laws, including the Americans with Disabilities Act, the California Rehabilitation Act and the First, Fifth and 14th amendments to the US Constitution.
