A lawsuit seeking class action status accuses the Salvation Army and two of its former officers of consumer fraud, claiming the leaders or officers took money from illegal immigrants after promising to help them gain legal status. According to the suit, the immigrants were told to pay $4,000 to the Salvation Army officer and donate $500 to the church.
