I had treatment for hep-c in 2020. I was give mavyret and ribacvarin once a day. I became anemic and had to lower dose of ribavarin. I felt sick all the time. Since finishing treatment I have terrible pain in my joints and have bone issues. I have developed scoleosis and have disc problems in neck. My skin has pustules and scarring. I am wearing glasses and still eyes are changing. Never had high blood pressure. Now I do. Depressed because of this rash that won't go away no matter what I use. I feel I was used as a guinnea pig .

did the treatment I think in 2014. Went through hell. A lot of the above symptoms. Ended up in the psych ward. Seem to end up there every two years since. I have now been diagnosised with bipolar disorder. Forever trying to get back on my feet :)

I was treated with pegulated interferon in 2014. I honestly felt so much better WITH HEPETITIS C. My eyes are swollen and painful all the time. I ache so bad I've cried for 7 years. The treatment stopped the progression of liver damage but sure made me sick. I now have Sjogrens disease of the eyes. Extreme dry inflamed eyes ALL THE TIME. I never expierenced anxiety in my life until the 7th week of pegulated interferon/Ribovaran.

I am so happy that I came across this website, as my husband (Gerald James) has fallen apart in the last 3 years that I have bed with him.
We did not know what had suddenly happened a normal, healthy, strong man, that all of a sudden could no longer work do to a hernia surgery, that turned out to be one health issue after another.
From Mascular Degenerate eye disease, dpression, paranoia, suicide attempt, joint pain (severe back pain) and impaired memory issues....no collection of child hood events....clouded, fuzzy, foggy brain...delayed perception ...delayed motor skills...the list goes on and on.
I had a hunch thay interferons and ribavirin he was treated with sometime in 2003 had something to do with many of his health issues, he took the drugs for approximately 6 months and approx. 20 years later he suddenly caught asthma ( nobody at 50 just catches asthma..haha)
And a rare 5% case some kind of subtype asthma ( not diagnosed yet).Really?...
Nobody just gets sick after a flu shot and falls apart in 3 years....
Now almost blind?...Living in constant joint, neck, back and knee pain, somebody needs to nail this pharmecutical company ASAP.!!!..
They should be expelled from making medicine! This is horrible, unethical and just flat sick !
I am just livid to think Drs. spend over 12 years in medical school and nurses as well, for some Mentaly challenged, Idiot minded, pharmecutical Moron, to screw human life up like this?
They need to pay with all they have for not caring about human life.
Please Help! We Will!
Our Health will never be the same again!

My husband took the interferon/Ribavirin treatment for 6 months in 2011. He was 26 years old. Today he is a shell of the man he was going into those treatments. He has terrible short term memory, what I describe as brain fog-you ask him a question it is a delayed response. He is in chronic pain-especially back, joints, muscles. He is tired all the time. He is struggling to even work now. Doctors have ran tests for everything under the sun and nothing. At this point they aren’t even referring us to anyone else because nobody can tell us what’s wrong. Other than the post interferon syndrome. Looking for any help-we have 5 children-our youngest is just 8. I would give anything to go back and tell my husband to wait and not take the treatments. We were told at the time the side effects were short term. But they never went away-they have robbed him from any quality of life.
Pegylated interferon / ribavirin treatment 2011 for Hep C. Life has steadily gone down hill. I was told by the specialist I was a good candidate for a the "cure". If only I could go back. I felt much better in 2011 with the Hep C. Depression, joint and muscle pain. Neropathy in my lower right leg. The starting of macular degeneration. Now on thyroid medication for hypothyroidism. Worst of all the brain fog, so difficult to concentrate , I feel overwhelmed if there is too much going on. I can't make decisions. I'm still working but finding it increasingly difficult. My god this drug took my life away. I had been working at a financial institution for 25 years and I got fired. Why are we not being heard out here there are thousands of us. We were told the side effects were short term. LIARS.

I took the alpha2b treatment for hep C,2005 .I was told I'd feel like I had the flu once in awhile. That was the first lie.It was peg intron (interferon) and rebotol (Ribivarin) 6 mos. When I started treatment. I weighed a healthy 248 lbs in 2 1/2 mos, I was 162 lbs. The six mos of treatment was a blur.I remember cash cab,the Vonage commercials,ceaser bag salads, Charleston chew's,. That's it. I don't remember my Thanksgiving,my birthday, Christmas, none of it. I'm double diagnosed with severe depression and PTSD,failed eyesight. My body hurts so bad now that I pray for death. I'm in a fog.Confusde. No z sy for life. I just go through the motions. I have alot more wrong with me,but this is jist of it. I'm on social security. I used to hunt,fish,was an ironworker who loved workin. It made me who I was. Someone has to be held accountable. Mayo Clinic has givin the after effects a title. ( Post interferon syndrome) Merck,shering plough,has been subpoenad by the Justice Dept for their marketing practices,and Interferon Ribivarin were both taken off the market Feb 1st 2016. I'm writing this in regards to the Interferon and Ribavirin treatment. My memory is so bad I don't know what year it was I was on the treatment. The VA said I needed to go on It or I'll be dead in a couple of years, that was 10 years ago. They told me It didn't work, and wanted me to take it another year. When I was on It the whole year I was pissing blood and had bladder problems. I still have bladder problems along with eye sight, heart, kidney stones, you name it. I just wish I never heard of Interferon!

I took Pegasus interferon and ribavirin for eight months in 2014. It has destroyed my life. I was very fit when I did the treatment my eye sight has gotten worse I still get such bad migraines that seemed to be hurting my eyes I used to stand in front of my flower bed and water them. But I started loosing my balance and falling into my flowers. Fevers seems like I still get them I mean night sweats vomiting muscle spasms that still wake out of a dead sleep and have to stand on the. Floor next to my bed till they would go away I have bad hip joint knees n hands. Joints. Always in pain in my spine I have fire in my feet n legs nerve damage I can't have sex.no more. I didn't have a problem with erection before i have memory loss I feel like I have demencha or altimers from this I feel useless

This treatment was the worst thing I have ever experienced. Was told 1 year after treatment completion I would be free of side effects. This unfortunately never happened. Since then I have been in the emergency room multiple times and seeing doctors in an attempt to diagnose and treat all of the symptoms caused by the treatment. So far the most identifiable and serious complications are, major depressive disorder, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and Interstitial cystitis. Put all this together and you have a suffering miserable life. Now I am on disability and struggling financially as well. Is no one to be held accountable?

I did interferons and ribavirin 9 years ago . Was cured of hep c but in the last 8 years my eye sight is going fast. My right eye sight goes for 2-5 minutes and I have floaters in the left eye .I just had a lung transplant because of copd . Is there somewhere you can get help with getting a little justice?

Hello.My name is Robert and since my chemotherapy with peg interferon with ribavirin i have not been the same i mean ive been diagnosed with cipn i had a conduction test completed and it read abnormal.My therapy started in 2004 im getting worse and im on meds.If you can help so will i.Thanks.

My husband just finished the savoldi and ribaviron treatment. within the year before this he had a full heart checkup and was in great shape except for one small defect. No skipped heartbeats or anything else. Now that he has done the savoldi and ribaviron he has developed a very noticeable skipping heartbeat, and shadows and spots in his vision that aren't going away. What makes this so bad is not one of the doctors he saw told us anything about there being such serious damages that could be caused by the medications. I had to do the research on my own once he started complaining about the issues. He was in great shape before hand outside of the hep C. Even that was under control and only at a F1 level.

My eyesight certainly is impaired but my lungs are damaged more. I have bad, unending depression every day. I feel that my life has been robbed from me in 2014. I'm not the person I was. I have MRI's and countless other tests. I'm sick of trying to deal with it.

I took interferon treatment starting in 2012 took 56 weeks of treatments made me really sick and the treatments didn't even work. Now that time has passed my eyes have changed bad. Have real bad headache's also have had strokes number of medical thing's wrong with me can't remember anything. I know that the treatments have taken my life from me. Need to know if there is anything or anyone who can help. Someone need's to be responsible for letting a treatment kill u in the end in a horable way. Is there anyone who can help out find someone responsible.

I treated in Canada in 2001 with Pegetron. I now have eyesight issues and a host of other problems.

my eye site is now 5.75 in right eye and 5.25 in left eye and segment power (bifocals) +200 on top of that. I have headaches, memory loss, fatigue, back pain and have spots on my retina. I also believe all my issues are progressive. my vision was a little bad but not like this.

I treated with Interferon and Ribavirin and have Chronic Health Problems..eyesight,headache,Chronic Pancreatitis,Chronic Bron.,RA,Fibro.,Chronic Pain Patient..Back,neck,,,,Any chance of a lawsuit as these meds have ruined my life...was in perfect shape before treatment....now i can barely wipe my own a##..help

My eyesight is impaired, I have swelling in my lower legs, thyroid damage, chronic fatigue, skin problems, joint and muscle pain, also memory impairments. I started treatment feeling like myself, now I feel like I'm 90.

I am suffering from terrible vision eye twitches and shooting pains from my temple area down to my eyes on both sides of my head blurry carpal along with fibromyalgia along with pains in my legs so bad it almost feels like the muscle is seperating from the bone and I cant seem to be getting enough oxygen to my legs and its very painful plus beginning rage mentally. someone help me.

After a total of about 24 months of Interferon/rib combo therapy for HCV tx I have had terrible issues with my eyesight and my eyes. Among other issues such as thyroid problems, carpal tunnel, and fibromyalgia. All if my issues seem to be progressive.
