A class action lawsuit has been filed against the licensing subsidiary of the National Football League Players Association for improperly representing retired players. The lawsuit claims Players Inc. improperly represented more than 3,500 retired players and owes them tens of millions of dollars in back licensing fees for video-game manufacturing and apparel companies.
The organization handles $750 million in retail licensing business on behalf of all 1,800 current players as well as 3,500 retired players and generates more than $100 million in annual revenue.
