The Consumer Product Safety Commission released an announcement recalling 34,000 battery powered scooters and mini bikes manufactured by Fisher Price as well as 246,000 electric scooters made by Razor USA.
Specifically, Razor recalled scooter models E300, E300S, E200, and E200S. The handlebars allegedly can accidentally detach from the scooter and cause injuries. The commission received over 260 reports of handlebar defects. In a separate recall, 584,000 PowMax Razor vehicles were recalled after reports of batteries overheating.
The Fisher Price Lightning PAC Scooter model 73530 and MX3 Mini Bike model 73535 were recalled for reports of over inflated tires rupturing.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission suggests parents can significantly reduce deaths and injuries by taking simple safety precautions by making their children wear helmets and riding on smooth, safe areas.
