A class action lawsuit has been filed against the Province of Quebec on behalf of students in regards to interest payments on their student loans. The suit was filed after the National Assembly changed the rules on exemption periods for loans that had already been granted. The suit alleges that the loans are equivalent to a contract and therefore the terms should not have been able to be changed retroactively.
