A class action lawsuit claims that Polo Ralph Lauren Corporation violated California labor and business laws. The suit claims the company breached its promise to employees. It promised a reasonable wage, rest breaks and humane treatment. Instead, the company required employees to work overtime without pay, did not allow rest breaks and locked them in the store after hours so they could be inspected for stolen merchandise. The lawsuit also claims that Polo adjusted employees' payroll records to record fewer hours than they actually worked.
