A lawsuit has been filed and is seeking class action status against the New York landlord for allegedly evicting 5,000 tenants and breaking rent-stabilization laws. The lawsuit was filed against Pinnacle Group on behalf of 21,000 people living in 420 Pinnacle owned buildings.
Thousands of tenants filed the federal racketeering lawsuit against the Pinnacle Group and owner Joel Wiener. The suit claims Pinnacle made shoddy repairs to apartments, violated renting laws, issued illegal evictions, and harassed tenants to try and force them out and raise rents.
