Class action status is being sought in a lawsuit filed against PharmaCare Management Services Inc. owned by drugstore giant CVS Corp. The suit was filed on behalf of licensed independent pharmacies in Minnesota, and was filed in regards to the reimbursements paid for price increases on brand-name drugs. The suit claims that according to PharmaCare's standard contract with pharmacies, they are required to reimburse a percentage of the published drug prices as of "the date of service," the day the drugs were dispensed. PharmaCare "routinely waits between one and three weeks after a price increase" before paying the higher price, the suit alleges.
