PalmOne has announced that it will shut down its wireless service, Palm.Net, by the end of August 2004.
Services such as Palm.Net e-mail and the MyPalm mobile portal and Web clipping service will no longer be available to Palm.Net users
The to the San Francisco Chronicle reports that while USA.net will serve email for some Palm.Net subscribers, The Palm VII, VIIx and i705 handhelds will no longer have Palm.Net functionality because they are incompatible with the USA.net network.
A member of the LawyersandSettlements.com lawyer network is investigating whether PalmOne's cancellation of the Palm.net service constitutes a violation of California law.
