A class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of taxpayers trying to overturn Town Board members' full time retirement benefits. The case was filed in New York Supreme Court against the Town Board for voting itself and judges full-time retirement benefits retroactively. The suit names Thom Kleiner, Denis Troy, Denis O'Donnell, Thomas Morr, and Marie Manning as the defendants. The class alleges the board's actions were unconstitutional because the members illegally gave themselves deferred compensation, did not go through the proper local law process, and improperly documented the hours they worked.
