A class action lawsuit filed in San Diego Superior Court against the city of Oceanside alleges police officers were not paid for writing arrest reports, traveling to and from courts, maintaining their firearms and other police duties. Thirty-five police officers claim they were not paid for activities that constitute part of their job description, such as shift briefings, inspections and preparing or reviewing arrest reports. Nor were they paid for working during meal breaks, walking to patrol vehicles or walking to briefings.
