Ex-Kirsch employees, now retirees, are being asked by Newell Rubbermaid Inc., which owns Kirsch, to pay $40 per month per person for health care after the company changed its health care plan from one company to another. Retirees and Kirsch agreed upon a health care plan in a 1993 bargaining session. Benefits have subsequently been modified and some prescription drugs are no longer covered under the new health company's plan. The United Auto Workers Union is helping the group of retirees to file a lawsuit against Newell Rubbermaid Inc.
