A lawsuit seeking class action status has been filed against Cub Foods and its parent company, Supervalu, for allegedly fraudulently mislabeling beef and selling it at a higher price. The lawsuit was filed in Anoka County district court and claims Cub Foods has systematically mislabeled regular USDA choice beef as costlier Black Angus for the past six years.
Supervalu became the third-largest supermarket chain in the country after it purchased Albertson's in 2006.
