U.S. District Judge Adalberto Jordan has ruled that the class action lawsuit filed against Miami-Dade County and several county corrections officials may proceed. The suit was filed on behalf of women who were arrested and strip-searched after November demonstrations against a free-trade meeting, and the suit alleges that the searches were unconstitutional and "invasive."
