Meriwest Credit Union and Falore Nissan, Inc.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Meriwest Credit Union and Falore Nissan, Inc. on behalf of customers. The suit accuses the companies of unfair practices in regards to the sale of repossessed cars at auction. The suit alleges that the companies have been selling the repossessed cars at a fraction of their fair market value, and forcing the borrower to make up the difference, which is a violation of a California law which states that repossessed property must be disposed of in a commercially reasonable way, with the proceeds from the sale being applied to the outstanding debt on the vehicle.
