A class action has been commenced against McDonald's Restaurants of Canada Limited, McDonald's Corporation, and Simon Marketing, Inc. alleging that McDonald's knowingly withheld high-level prize contest pieces from McDonald's restaurants in Canada from 1995 to 2001.

The suit alleges that Simon Marketing, Inc. was instructed by McDonald's Corporation to withhold seeding high-level prize pieces at McDonald's restaurants throughout Canada. Some of the prizes included automobiles and substantial sums of money.

This action is on behalf of all customers of McDonald's who purchased food and obtained a Contest game piece for Contests between January 1, 1995 and December 31, 2001, for games such as McDonald's Monopoly, McDonald's NHL Muppet Mania and McDonald's NHL An All-Star Break Game are the subject of this claim.
