A class action lawsuit has been filed against the auditing firm for allegedly failing to pay overtime to employees. The lawsuit was filed in Ontario Superior Court of Justice against the Canadian division of international firm KPMG. The suit seeks overtime compensation for employees of KPMG that were wrongfully denied, or never properly compensated, for their overtime work.
The class includes all employees of KPMG such as lawyers, non-accountant staff, and others who worked more than 44 hours in a week, didn't receive overtime pay and are not exempt under applicable regulation. Remedies are sought for breach of the Employment Standards Act and breach of contract.
