A class action lawsuit has been filed against the Kaiser Foundation of Oakland, California on behalf of patients. The suit alleges that the company has been unlawfully disclosing patients' private medical information, which is an invation of patients' privacy and a violation of California law. The suit claims that when notice of a claim or a potential claim by a patient is received by Kaiser, the patient's medical files are sent to Kaiser's legal department and disseminated for review to individuals with no role in the patient's health care.
