Johnson & Johnson
Class action status is being sought in a lawsuit filed against Johnson & Johnson on behalf of thousands of U.S. African-American and Hispanic employees. The suit alleges that the pharmaceutical company discriminated through policies and practices that kept them out of executive positions. The suit further claims that compared to white workers black and Hispanic workers received lower salaries and less merit increases, cash bonuses, stock awards and stock options. The suit is seeking to change the company's practices, as well as win employees' back pay, lost fringe benefits and lost benefits from 401(k) plans, plus compensatory and punitive damages.
