A proposed class action lawsuit has been filed against the club owned by rapper Jay-Z for allegedly violating federal labor laws by forcing employees to work for tips only. The lawsuit was filed in Manhattan Federal Court on behalf of workers at the W. 25th St. hot spot, including bartenders, table clearers, waiters and waitresses. The lawsuit accuses Jay-Z and co-owner Juan Perez of willfully failing and refusing to pay employees the legally required minimum wage for all hours worked and time and a half rates for work in excess of forty hours per work week.
