After contaminants were found in St. Louis drinking water, city officials supplied schools with bottled water. They notified St. Louis and Mid Michigan prison staff of the contaminated water but inmates' water source was not changed. The inmates claim they were forced to drink contaminated water and eat food prepared with contaminated water.

I was an inmate at St. Louis facility from 2009 through 2011.i was diagnosed with high blood pressure and never had such medical issues the doctor never gave me anything or informed me I have kidneys problem but now I'm home and the doctor informed me I have stage 3 kidney disease, it should be some type of justice. I'm not perfect but I was subject to cruel punishment which I'm paying for now because of the water there in St. Louis.
