A securities class action lawsuit has been filed on behalf of shareholders who purchased the common stock and other securities of HealthTronics Surgical Services, Inc. ("HealthTronics" or the "Company") (Nasdaq:HTRN), between January 4, 2000 and July 25, 2003 inclusive (the "Class Period"). The class action lawsuit was filed against the Company and certain of its officers and directors in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
The Complaint alleges that defendants violated federal securities laws by issuing a series of material misrepresentations to the market during the Class Period, thereby artificially inflating the price of HealthTronics securities. The Complaint further alleges, among other claims, that HealthTronics made material misrepresentations concerning the effectiveness of OssaTron(r), HealthTronics leading product for the treatment of heel pain.
