Primal Vantage Company Inc. has recalled its Ameristep Patriot and Outfitter Hang-on Tree Stands after receiving reports of j-hook failures. The j-hook attachment of the tree strap can fail causing the tree stand to collapse. Consumers could potentially fall and suffer serious injuries or death.
Ameristep Patriot Hang-On Tree Stand Model number 7300 with UPC number 769524703001 and Outfitter Hang-On Tree Stand with model number 7310 and UPC number 769524703100 have been recalled. Both products are fixed-position, strap-on tree stands. The model number and UPC can be found on the packaging.
The stands were sold by hunting and outdoor stores nationwide and by Web retailers and in catalogs from April 2004 through December 2005 for between $130 and $150.
