Dozens of doctors and clinics advertise extensively for "surgical hair restoration," "medical hair restoration" and "hair transplantation." Many promise a new, full head of your own hair after just one or two practically painless and inexpensive procedures.
Once they go under the knife, too many consumers realize that surgical hair restoration can be very painful, expensive and time-consuming. Results rarely live up to the promises. Some consumers return for procedure after procedure, still never achieving the results they were promised. Unscrupulous doctors tell their patients, "Just one more procedure will give you the full head of hair you want."
Class action attorneys are investigating whether these claims violate false advertising and consumer protection laws.
