A nationwide class action lawsuit has been filed against the auto insurance company for allegedly discriminating against African Americans by regularly charging them higher insurance premiums than it charges Caucasians with the same driving records. The suit was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota in Minneapolis. GEICO allegedly uses the occupation and level of education of its policyholders to determine premiums and therefore charges higher costs to those with less education and low qualification jobs. These factors are correlated with race and GEICO did not disclose its use of these factors to the public or to the state insurance commissioners.

I hope this lawsuit is still going on. I live in the state of Maryland and the zip code redlining is in full force. Not only do they have racial disparity in auto premiums rates. They also have racial disparities in settling personal injury cases with African Americans. I was involved in an automobile accident and both of us had Geico. I am African American and the person who hit me was Caucasian. I have been with Geico for over 40 years and never had an accident. This accident was the other person's fault, even the police report states it. I was injured real bad. My accident happened in 2019. As of today, they have not tried to settle my case. So, I am headed to the court room. I had two very high paying jobs but am only able to work one of them partially now. Their attorney has treated me as if I am a crook. I even went to their doctor and their doctor verified that the injury is real and the accident was an aggravated fact of this injury, but still they treat me as if I am Fraudulent. The only problem I have is that I am BLACK. I truly believe that if I was Caucasian, this case would have been settled.

I should have known better to trust a lizard with a english accent. I am a senior African American male, retired with a stellar driving history no points in over ten years. Great Credit Score! So, why am I paying higher rates then my white sisters and brothers with the same driving record and credit score? Geico you say you don't discriminate, so please feel free to step up and answer that question, and explain your reason for that disparity? I attempted to call and get a better rate and was told bluntly after years as a loyal customer with Geico. "Your rate is your rate." After being offer a much better rate with one of your competitors. There is an old saying "If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, guess what? It's a duck!"

Please forward me all relevant details relating to this case.
I am a Hispanic female over the standard age of 28 and my premium (no DUI, 1 claim for accident, no tickets, no moving violations) pay more than an individual who is white with 4 DUI's so much so that I know for a fact she had a breathalyzer in her car to start it.
Her premium was lower on a newer leased car than my used sedan.
Please by all means include me in this.

I am a current customer and have been for some years with GEICO AUTO INSURANCE. But what I have seen and been through with them is out of line. They have constantly gone up on my insurance and always give me a an excuse. This is the good part, I have been a careful driver with no tickets or accidents never. So I have spoken with other car insurance customers and they've been going through the same situation with GEICO. LOW AND BE HOLD WE OF OTHER RACE TO! I have been a great customer with them and I feel that they've disrespected and walked on great customers with their selfish tactics because I am nieve/ stupid to what the've been doing towards loyal and innocent customers. I hope someone can find the right answers and resoulutions to what has been going on and why. I deserve to be treated better than the color of my skin, my education and job status. Thiis is WRONG!
Thank you!
Thank you!

I am a Chiropractor treating patients in a lower economic area and mostly patients of color or hispanic. Geico has systematically put our cases into special investigation (SIU) and harassed my patients by grilling them for hours in examinations under oath (IUO). Refused payments over and over for any reason whatsoever and has filed Federal Civil Suite against me. If there is a class action suite against this company I want in!!!!
