Detroit, MI: Ford Motor Co has issued several safety recalls affecting about 101,000 vehicles in US including 8,000 in Canada.
The largest recall involves 92,022 vehicles, specifically the 2013 and 2014 Taurus, Lincoln MKS, and Police Interceptor sedans, the Flex and Lincoln MKT crossovers, the 2012-2014 Edge and 2014 Lincoln MKX for a problem that could arise with an improperly installed right-hand halfshaft. Ford says the halfshaft could shift out of place, causing unexpected vehicle movement.
Additionally, Ford is recalling 2,124 Escape SUVs (model year 2014) because their panoramic glass roofs might leak or fall out and some 200 Ford Fiesta compact cars to repair a problem with a leaky fuel tank.
Further, Ford has issued a recall for 5,264 F59 commercial stripped chassis (model years 2011-2014) because corrosion could lead to a fire risk. Six F59 commercial stripped chassis face recalls in Canada.
