A civil class action lawsuit has been filed against the land manager on behalf of Little Neck homeowners. The seaside community residents hope to renegotiate their lease and avert eviction. The land is owned by a colonial-era trust that was set up to benefit Ipswich schoolchildren and is managed by the Feoffees. The class was filed in Essex County Superior Court and claims 40% rent increases are unfair; residents are seeking injunctive and declaratory relief, compensatory damages, restitution and punitive damages incidental to or flowing from such relief.
