Current and former employees have filed a federal lawsuit and are seeking class action status against the properties alleging gender harassment and bias. The lawsuit was filed in US District Court in Las Vegas and names Fairfield Resorts Inc. and its corporate parents, Wyndham Vacation Resorts and Cendant Corp., as defendants. The complaint claims male managers 'formed a brotherhood of predators who bonded by terrorizing, intimidating, and victimizing female employees.'
The sexual harassment and gender discrimination complaint claims male employees groped, rubbed, and demanded sex from female co-workers who were allegedly told by managers to wear revealing clothes to advance in the company. The lawsuit also alleges violations of federal civil rights and family medical leave acts, and Nevada state equal employment opportunity laws.
One former employees claims she was aggressively recruited to join the company based on her sales experience, yet was denied the opportunity for advancement because of her unwillingness to have a romantic relationship with her supervisor. Another employee alleged that during her pregnancy she was made to work 13- and 14-hour days, and was encouraged to resign before being denied pregnancy leave.
