Santa Clara, CA: Facebook Inc, is facing allegations that it sends spam text messages to people who are assigned recycled cellphone numbers of former Facebook users, in violation of the Telephone Consumer protection Act (TCPA).
The allegations state that when Facebook users deactivate their phone numbers, those numbers are reassigned. However, FB continues to send spam text messages those phone numbers.
Each violation of the TCPA carries damages of $500 per violation, a number which can be tripled in cases of willful violations.

Facebook! The worse thing I ever did. I don't know if this counts towards this lawsuit , I have to tell someone what happen, I was hacked through my cell phone that was connect to Facebook the hacker was able to get my customers phone numbers they had them punch in a code on their cell whenever I would send them a text I lost 250 customers they were unable to reach me for three weeks. I lost 2,500 in my business income... one of customer called me through there landline, they asked me to come over and for me to text their phone when I did a code 111345654 came up stating that my customer had to punch in this code in order to respond to the text, if I called her cell I couldnt reach her and she couldnt reach me, my customers found out their phones were hacked through me from facebook! Facebook ruined my dog business that has taken me three years to fix, I am behind on my rent, car payment, and other bills I current have a ulcer that hurts from all the stress I am currently going through, it has cost me 600.00 to buying two new phones changing to phone numbers I can't use my two laptops because they have a virus, I had to cancel Facebook change my banking information because these hackers got my banking information thru my phone and laptop, and also Yahoo. After i made calls to all these companies I need to see some kind of pay back from facebook for all the stuff I have been through. I hope facebook closes down! It has only caused problems in peoples lives. What a disappointment! Hope I have a case.

Change phone numbers and really didn't want the phone number I got want to keep my old number but somehow Facebook change my number for me without me asking
