A class action lawsuit has been filed alleging Evanston Northwestern engaged in unlawful anticompetitive conduct for healthcare services in the geographic triangle formed by Evanston Northwestern's three wholly owned hospitals. The suit claims patients, insurers, and other third party payors paid artificially inflated prices for healthcare services at the hospitals.
The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois on behalf of all patients and other direct purchasers of healthcare services from Evanston Northwestern Healthcare Corporation's three hospitals: Evanston Hospital, Glenbrook Hospital and Highland Park Hospital, from January 1, 2000 to August 8, 2007.
