A class action lawsuit filed against Drive Time, formerly known as Ugly Ducking, alleges the used-car dealer leaked customers' credit applications, which included their social security numbers and other private information, to unauthorized outside parties. The suit claims that Drive Time let out many confidential credit applications to insurance brokers for the purpose of placing auto insurance, without consumer consent.

YES!!! DriveTime NEEDS TO BE INVESTIGATED!!! They have done so many people wrong & are getting away with it!!! I went on BBB website to file a complaint & see if there were any consumer complaints made and OMG!!! Over 500+With similar stories and business manages to have a A+ rating? I don't get it? Also they (DriveTime) has 3 fake websites claiming to "Want to File or join class action suit against DriveTime" misleading people! We recently got our car repossessed for being 1 payment late which had a balance of $78. I had many phone conversations throughout the week with them regarding a supposed "return check" payment denied. Mind you i don't own checks?...so anyway, Payday comes I go home To call & ask questions on my balance & make payment. Not aware, they already knowingly sent for repo guy to pick up car as I'm on the phone with them! I hang up thinking I'm gonna go pay my balance and also next car payment..CAR WAS GONE! I've been going through so much, misleading info, lies, unprofessional employees! Telling me to call tomorrow to get my car back since balance was paid...paperwork takes about 2hrs. Next day comes. They are avoiding my calls by placing me on hold for more than 45 min, until I finally get through! Now I'm told I need police report to get car out, and appointment to meet with someone regarding my car!!! PLEASE HELP MAKE THIS CASE BIGGER THAN IT IS!!! So many lives ruined and prayed upon and taken advantage of for having bad credit!!!

I purchased a car from drivetime 2 years ago, it has broken down 3 times due the the transmission, their crappy warranty company sends used parts to fix and they fix the bare minimum to get by, they want me to rent a car with my own money and then 3-4 weeks after the fact they reimburse me, I have lost money at work and I ask them to let me get a different car, when I went to the car lot the salesman was so rude and it was the same guy who put me in this crappy Nissan. He told me they needed to rerun my credit, he needed my check stubs again and when I explained I have had a loan for 2 years with yall and made payments on time, he told me "You need to help yourself." and when I told him, "No, you need to help me, since you are the one who put me in the car.", he said, " I don't have any help for you" and said "Bye, bye. Why doesn't anyone do anything about this ripoff company, if you are a person who needs has less than perfect credit and you are holding up your end and making the payments on time, then Drivetime should have to step up and do the same. Now they tell me they are going to auction off the car and I will have to pay the difference when I am in this situation because of them. And the sad thing is this is a continued occurrence with them.
