Canadian Department of National Defence
A class action lawsuit is being prepared against the Canadian Department of National Defence on behalf of an estimated 2,500 soldiers who were exposed chemical warfare tests at Canadian Forces Base Suffield in southern Alberta or in an Ottawa research lab 50 years ago. The suit claims that the soldiers, who were mostly teenagers at the time, endured poisonous mustard gas trials during the Second World War, which caused them to suffer large blisters on their bodies, respiratory ailments, cancer, and other medical complications.
