A lawsuit seeking class action status claims the Directors Guild of America (DGA) has secretly collected foreign levies and retained monies of nonmembers of the union and does not have the right to do so. According to the suit, the DGA has not informed nonmembers that monies have been collected nor have any monies been paid out. The DGA is also accused of taking a commission as a fee for collecting the money.
