A lawsuit has been filed and is seeking class action against the CEO of Denver Health Medical Center for allegedly discriminating against non-white employees. Several African American employees and a Hispanic Jew claim they were discriminated against after they complained about another discrimination incident. The class claims CEO Dr. Patricia Gabow trained her managers and supervisors to ignore objective performance criteria when firing and hiring employees.
The suit was filed in US District Court on behalf of current and former employees alleging widespread discrimination against ethnic minorities on its staff. The city's public-hospital system employs 4,300 people and cares for 140,000 patients each year.
