A class action lawsuit has been filed against the computer company alleging certain models of Inspiron notebook computers are defective and cause complete system failures. The class action was filed in Ontario Superior Court on behalf of Canadian consumers claiming design defects make the computers susceptible to overheating and premature failure of the motherboard. The lawsuit also alleges Dell knew or ought to have known of the inherent defects in the notebooks' design but nevertheless sold, marketed, and distributed the notebooks in Canada.

Computer has been having problems for many months. I have an extended warranty but the computer continues to overheat and break down. They finally took the computer in and replaced a fan, a heat sink and a board but did not replace the hard drive or the troublesome DVD burner/player. The machine is incredibly slow, the DVD works sporatically and it is still over heating.

Dell Inspiron 6000 - has been overheating since I bought it. Has been in the shop and had parts heat sink replaced, fan, board and four hard drives and it is still not functioning properly.
In total I have spent over 18 hours on the Tech support Line. I am partially disabled and no longer have the energy to continue this charade and the company will do nothing to help me but send me back to the tech support lines. I have been forced to buy another computer from a reliable source. My business is suffering.
