According to the lawsuit, C&S failed to pay workers agreed upon hourly rates, refused to pay overtime over 10 hours and refused to pay for meal breaks. As well, the second largest wholesale grocery store supplier in the US punished workers for mistakes on the job by decreasing their wages. Pay decrease is prohibited under the employment law in every state where C&S operates. Approximately 20,000 people are employed by C&S.
