Santa Clara, CA: Colgate- Palmolive is facing a consumer fraud class action lawsuit filed by a Connecticut resident who alleges the company misrepresents certain of its toothpastes as providing deeply whitening stain removal.
Specifically, named plaintiff Lori Canale, individually and for all others similarly situated, asserts in the complaint that Colgate-Palmolive represents that its Colgate optic white toothpaste "Goes beyond surface stain removal to deeply whiten" teeth and that its Colgate optic white platinum toothpaste "Deeply whitens more than three shades."
According to the complaint, the toothpastes do not actually go beyond surface stain removal and do not deeply whiten teeth because their whitening ingredient, which is 1 percent hydrogen peroxide, is not a large enough amount of hydrogen peroxide. Further, the product is not in contact with teeth for a long enough time to do what the company claims it does.
Canale and others in the class are represented by attorneys Scott A. Bursor, Joseph I. Marchese, Frederick J. Klorczyk and Philip L. Fraietta of Bursor & Fisher in New York. The case is US District Court for the Southern District of New York Case number 7:16-CV-03308-CS.

I bought this toothpaste expecting to have results and yet nothing has been proven and yet my gums are sore and bleed i wonder why...geez include me in this lawsuit..

I purchased this toothpaste before I left for a trip and used it maybe once or twice. I brought a different travel size toothpaste with me. After getting back from my trip, I started using this toothpaste. For about two and a half weeks, I had this horrible itchy feeling in my mouth that felt like it was burning especially on my tongue and the back of my throat. The back of my throat was turning white and there was a rash on my gums. I contacted my dentist and went into my doctor trying to figure out what was causing this horrible feeling. Never thinking that a toothpaste could cause this, I didn't even think that a new toothpaste would cause this, I tried discontinuing everything I could possibly have an allergic reaction to...except my toothpaste!!! Wow...I was still having this horrible rash. I just stopped using the toothpaste for two days now and already the burning has gone down. I had the doctor run all these tests that I'm now going to be billed for!!! DO NOT PURCHASE THIS TOOTHPASTE!!!!

I have been use this toothpaste for almost a year now and I see no difference. I should be able to tell a difference by now. Whitening results was the only reason I started buying this toothpaste.

I have been purchasing this products for years now. It is the only toothpaste we purchase and because of the promise it will deeply whiten your teeth and remove shades. I truly have not seen a difference since I have been using this product but believed I was bot using the product enough and should be brushing more than 2 times a day.

Also I have brought the tooth past as well it say it show results not true I mean I spent dam Nair 400 on this tooth out the whole year so I just stop using it and also suffer problem from the tooth past as well my gum has been getting sore over time so I completely stop using it

I have bought this specifically for that reason,along with others and have noticed no difference. I couldn't afford professional whitening,and the 3-d one is an even worse scam..I spend hundreds on all of their products.
