A class action lawsuit has been filed against North Carolina hospitals Carolinas Medical Center and North Carolina Baptist Hospital on behalf of uninsured patients. The suit alleges that the hospitals are gouging patients who make too much money to qualify for charity care but too little to afford their own health insurance. The suit alleges that the hospitals charge uninsured patients much more than they charge insurance companies for the same treatments.
