A class action lawsuit has been filed against Bouchard Transportation in regards to a 14,000 gallon oil spill by one of the company's barges. The suit was filed by nineteen out of approximately two hundred shell fishermen who have been put out of work by the spill. It is estimated that the company will be paying approximately $6 million dollars to clean up from the oil spill which killed an estimated 180 birds, and injured 79 others.
