A class action lawsuit has been filed against the national electronics chain for allegedly violating federal and state laws against employee gender and racial discrimination. Current and former employees of Best Buy claim women and minorities, specifically African Americans and Latinos, are paid less than white males, denied promotions, and assigned to less desirable positions. The lawsuit also claims Best Buy recruits, hires, and maintains a disproportionately white and male sales force from which it then promotes a disproportionately white male management force.
