San Francisco, CA: Apple is facing a class action lawsuit filed July 23, that alleges its iPad overheats and fails to operate properly in warm conditions. The iPad has a 9.7-inch touch-screen display that enables the user to read magazines and books, play games, surf the internet and watch videos.
According to a report on Bloomberg, the complaint states that the iPad "does not live up to the reasonable consumer's expectations created by Apple" because it "overheats so quickly under common weather conditions." And, that in direct sunlight, the iPad turns itself off after just a few minutes of use.
The class action is not yet certified, and is seeking unspecified damages.
